We are BOA users, but the closest thing to us is St. Pete. Luckily we will be headed to Miami on the first weekend in March for my Momma’s birthday and hope to take the troops over to the Miami Children’s Museum.
I picked up the blue nail polish, “Absolutely Alice” for my niece Kelly this week at ULTA. I would have loved this color in high school or even college. My nails seem to be red or unpainted these days. The OPI Alice in Wonderland Collection celebrates the release of Disney’s much anticipated remake of the classic children’s story. Very unique and perhaps slightly odd, these new colors transport you into Alice’s wonderland, where nothing is quite as it seems!
The colors are featured on OPI’s homepage with a feature that allows you to “try on” the colors so you can see how they will appear on your nails. There is also a giveaway to win one of 26 prizes being given away, which comes to an end on 3/5/10, the day the movie is released. If you like these, you will probably LOVE Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows which ULTA also carried. We were planning on taking a trip to Disney on Brian’s birthday to take advantage of their free admission on your birthday program, but the program comes to a close at the end of the month. I was able to find a new program on their site, Give a Day Get a Day. Beginning January 1, 2010, when you sign up to volunteer a day of service with a participating organization (and your service is completed and verified) you’ll get one day admission to a Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme park, FREE! They are trying to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service. Although it was too soon to sign up for service, I signed up to receive reminders and updates about the program.
Volunteering gives you an opportunity to change lives, including your own. You may not necessarily have the time, but have the heart…so make the time! Check out these other resources for volunteering:
I returned home from our Thanksgiving vacation to find the elephant cart from Design for Play in my mailbox. I often visit and enter the latest giveaway at Parenting.com but have never won anything….until today! I love children’s wooden toys, they have great charm and appeal. I think they are attractive to children because they offer an alternative to toys that have loud flashy bright lights. Not to say that Jason doesn’t love his bright and noisy toys, just that he likes to use his imagination too.
